How do chemical packaging plastic drums breathe?

1. Gasket: The use of breathable gasket can provide breathability in the sealing part of the chemical barrel. These spacers are usually made of porous materials such as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) or silicone. Tiny holes in the gasket allow gas to pass through, allowing for a breathable effect. Selecting the appropriate gasket material and hole size can adjust the breathable speed according to demand.
2.Breathable cover: The breathable cover is a uniquely designed cover that can provide moderate breathability on chemical drums. Ventilated covers usually contain holes, mesh structures, or breathable membranes to allow gas exchange. The ventilated structure on the lid can be adjusted and controlled as needed. The vent cover is designed to prevent liquid leaks or dust from entering while allowing gas to flow.

Plastic bucket breathable cover requirements?

In order to ensure that the breathable cover meets the requirements of the demander (anti-leakage, breathable, chemical resistance, etc.), the demander must carry out the adaptability test of the breathable cover before batch use. The main methods are as follows:
A. Leakage
Screw the vent cover on the top of the bucket filled with liquid, and lie on the ground with the mouth facing down. After 4 hours, observe whether there is liquid flowing out of the vent. (If there is a slight leakage, please decide whether it is acceptable)
B. chemical
The manufacturer provides the breathable film to the demander. The demander will soak the breathable film fully in the liquid, take it out 24 hours later, and observe whether the breathable film is corroded or dissolved. (If there is corrosion or dissolution, the breathable film should not be used).
C. Breathability
After the plastic barrel is loaded with liquid, twist the breathable cover, lie on the side for 1 minute, so that the breathable film is soaked in liquid, and the plastic barrel is erected and stored for 3-7 days or longer, the specific test time is determined by the demander. The temperature should simulate the temperature under actual use (the barrel is loaded with liquid and placed in the oven). For example, the storage temperature of the ocean container ton bucket is generally 40-50℃. After the expected time, observe whether the drum is bulging. If there is a slight bulge, the customer can decide whether to use it. If there is severe bulge, it is judged that this vent cover is not suitable.

What are the precautions for the use of breathable cover?

A. before the initial batch use, must pass the above 3 adaptability tests to determine whether the ventilation cover is suitable!
B.When the formula of the demander's products changes, the storage and transportation environment temperature changes and the transportation mode changes, the leakage and chemical resistance should be re-carried out. The breathability test has reconfirmed whether the breathable cover can meet the requirements.
C. capping note: hand rotation feel the barrel mouth and the lid plane contact, and then rotate 90 degrees with a wrench to ensure that the barrel mouth sealed. Screw cap should not be too loose or too tight, otherwise it will destroy the sealing.
D. After the liquid is canned, screw the lid according to the requirements of item C, lie the mouth of the barrel down on its side for 5 minutes, and check whether the lid and mouth of the barrel are leaking. Once the leakage is found, replace the cover immediately. In the leakage test, if it is still leaking, it indicates that there is a problem with the barrel, and the barrel needs to be replaced.
E. After filling each batch of products, it is recommended to place them at room temperature for 72 hours before shipping, and observe the expansion of the drums. Replace the lid as soon as an inflated drum is found; If the proportion of drum expansion is too high, it indicates that this ventilation cover is not suitable, and another solution should be found.
